I flew to Kuujjuaq this weekend for a break. We had report cards and lots of stuff on the go the last couple weeks so I planned the getaway to give myself something to look forward to! Fantastic idea! Flying in on Friday night to the vast expanse of bright lights, made me fell like I was really coming to the big city for a holiday!
I planned to stay with a new friend, Amanda, and she came to the airport to pick me up with another friend of hers, Lorna, who turned out to be a total blast! We went to the lounge for a few minutes, chatting about cool Halloween costumes from work, 'hiphops' and then went to the restaurant for supper. I don't think I have ever spent so many hours of fun doing otherwise normal things. Lorna was super fun to spend time with, at first, she seems rather reserved and I was quite surprised at how quick witted and great she is with the one liners. Her comic timing is impeccable! We especially laughed when we saw pizza number 4 on the menu. not just the name, which was hilarious but the actual ingredients too once the tears had receded from our eyes! :) Thanks for making my visit so nice, Lorna!
