Day 84- June 12- Joe Bishara, Sr.
Hit the streets of Canaan and Carleton today with Zach. He's been slowly plugging away at trying his best to meet and reach every house in Yarmouth County. Never saw a schedule like his, close to 12+ hours of canvassing per day since his campaign begin a couple weeks ago. We're down to 10 more days until the byelection. His campaign has been greatly supported by his family, some of whom have been my photo of the day already- his mom, Joanne, his aunt, Nancy and now, today Zach's uncle, Joe. He was out at the BBQ today, grilling like a villain for many hours, then joining in on canvassing the 340.
Joe has been a teacher for many years. For as long as I can remember, he's been a teacher at the county junior high school, Maple Grove. He is most renowned for his leadership to the Memorial Club that promotes and supports student involvement with veterans. The program has been positively impacting youth in creating role models and involved citizens for the future. It has also created a lot of awareness for war veterans, their sacrifice and commitment to freedom in our country. He's a great guy and one of those teachers that all of us "up-and-coming" educators in the world aspire to someday be like!! Hope you enjoy the pictures!!
Theme Song for today: A Boy named Sue by Johnny Cash (Joe has one of the best sense of humours that I know, he's so much fun to be around and is always cracking jokes, just like I would imagine a boy named Sue might do!)
